Night Bloom

I’ve read a few times in various articles that you should always “shoot the light” rather than the subject. I think it’s probably better to find a happy medium, but there’s a lot of truth to the advice. During the day, this flower never impressed me. (It’s at the entrance to my building complex.) But they have some lights on the area (small garden with a sign) and at night I thought the thing looked 100% more interesting. The light changes the drama.

However, if you’re going to wander your neighbor hood at night with a camera, make sure you’re very careful to not act creepy. I don’t think they’d let you take pictures once you’re at the jail.
