Bridge Nightfall

My favorite thing about shooting at night or in the later evening is that you can play more easily with longer exposures. This photo was taken on my way back from a visit to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It usually takes me three times as long as it should to get from Marquette to the bridge, because there’s so many great places to stop along the way and point a camera.

Aside from wanting the bridge and it’s lights in the shot, what I was playing around with here was the haziness from the waves with the longer exposure, contrasted with the sharper rocks on the beach. I liked the contrast.
