Duck Log

When you can be eaten by fish, it's best to sleep while not floating. Toward the end of an afternoon sweating my way around Kensington park, I found these guys settling in for a rest. I'm not sure how many babies they managed to fit onto that log, but it was impressive.

These kinds of shots can be challenging, because I've always found that I want to move around to get the perfect angle and framing, and the critters are almost always not so trusting about that. So you have to learn how to recognize when you're as close as you're going to get without spooking them. In this particular case, it helped that there was water in-between where I was and they were.
