If you want to find out whether you're a patient person, find yourself a blue heron that's hunting for his lunch, and try to wait to catch him in the act of actually catching a fish. You'll find you do mostly standing as still as he is, until you start to go crazy. (I have yet to get an "action" shot of one of these guys. I think they've all unioned up and are refusing me the shot.)
That being said, it's also great practice for BEING more patient. Learning how to hold a larger lens and find a comfortable way to do so, etc.
