Long exposures on rivers are tricky because of the trees and bushes along the side… if there’s any wind, you end up with blurry where you don’t want blurry. A good way around this is to to combine multiple exposures (take a couple of photos with different settings and blend them together in Photoshop.) In this case I didn’t do that, so there’s a bit of fuzziness in the leaves I’d have preferred to not have there. I was also hoping for a little longer exposure time, but the ones I took that way didn’t turn out. I was going to pass on editing this one much at all or posting it, but sometimes I’ve found that even with a few big technical issues that make me cringe, I still end up liking the overall “mood” of the photo. In this case, the photo feels very much to me how this Fall season has felt to me, so I decided to share it.
