Heading Out

I have mixed feelings about photos of ore boats. I tend to like nature vs. man-made things, especially industrial things… but sometimes a scene still catches me. In this case, the boat was making pretty good time on it’s way out of the ore docks in Marquette near Presque Isle, and I liked the waves crashing on the rocks in the foreground combined with the ship steaming it’s way out. It was cold as balls when I was taking this, so I ended up not using my tripod, which would have made for a clearer image (my shaking hands probably didn’t help here.)
