Any time I’m driving to or from the U.P. I often stop along Lake Michigan (which isn’t quite as awesome as Lake Superior, but still pretty great) to stretch my legs and play with the camera. So far I haven’t caught the waves acting up as easily as they do on Superior, but there have been many great sunset opportunities along this stretch of beach. This photo was taken at a rest stop on US2, not too far from the bridge.
I got my feet a bit wet tromping back and forth trying to figure out which trees to use as foreground, but the snow was actually fun to walk in because the top layer was frozen from a bit of rain that had fallen and then solidified, giving it a shinier look. (And satisfying popping crunch when stepping through it.)
