For some reason, every photo I took of this scene came out looking like something you’d see hanging in an old motel, likely a painting by somebody you’d not heard of. Motel art. Still, I find it peaceful to look at, and I’ve always kind of had a fondness for the campy motel aesthetic. Scenes like this are hard for me to photograph, because there’s not really a single focal point that’s easy to find, something to make the main subject of the image. It’s all background. Even the foreground.
