One of my favorite scenes is Lake Superior viewed through pine trees growing along the shoreline. On my recent trip to the U.P. I spent some time near Munising and had a chance to explore the shoreline near Miner’s Beach. While my legs definitely got a workout on the sandy trails (walking in sand is infinitely harder than walking on pavement or gravel) I also got some shots I was really happy with.
Even without the lake being very wavy, I could sit and look out from a spot like this for most of the day without getting bored. One of the great things about Lake Superior, too, is that even with the increased tourism, there’s so many places you can be pretty much by yourself. No crowds.
