When I popped onto Facebook last night, I saw someone had posted a photo in a photography group I’m in that they’d taken at Side Cut Metropark. It showed high water levels, much higher than I’ve seen in the years I’ve been here. I decided today to try to squeeze in some time (though only ended up having about 15 minutes there before I had to run to get to class) and was glad to have made the effort. This photo was from that quick stop at the end of a flooded road. (It was hard to get an angle that didn’t include the news crews that were hanging out there.)
I’m planning on heading back tomorrow with much more time, so I can explore around the edges and see what can be seen. I can only imagine the damage this kind of flooding does, but I have to admit, it makes for some dramatic imagery.
