Rocky Roots

This was a difficult shot to get, and I’m still not 100% happy with it, because it was relatively dark and I didn’t really have the time to set up my tripod. (My son and I were hiking up Sugar Loaf and he reeeeeally wanted to get to the top.) There’s two trails up, this was a little ways up the “difficult” trail, which my son of course insisted was the easier one. But, aside from the roots and rocks, I liked the three trees grouped together. Photography rule of thumb = try to use an odd number of subjects as the main focus (no pun intended) of your photo.
