I would have loved to have had the whole bird in the shot, but I ended up having to creatively crop this one. It was originally taken landscape rather than portrait, but his tail was slightly cut off and was out of focus. (You can tell by looking at the bird seed how shallow my depth of field was with this.) Trimming it vertically made it work better, even if it’s not perfect. I really liked the sharpness around his face, and that you can see his tongue. Bird tongues are weird.
