Sometimes it’s not hard to understand why they put a fence in place at the shore end of the breakwater to keep people from walking out during bad weather… these aren’t the biggest waves Lake Superior can throw at you, and even these would be plenty strong enough to sweep you right into the water. That being said, it’s funny how every time I make a trip to Marquette and the weather is good I’m just a little bit sad. 🙂 My camera makes me want to be out in bad weather all day.
I think one of the things I love about taking pictures of waves is that you never really know what you’re going to get. You can set up a shot and try for a composition, but there’s always an element of random chance involved. In my opinion, the best art is created when the artist finds unexpected delight in what they produce.
