One of my favorites kinds of bird at one of my favorite parks. After moving out of the U.P., Kensington Metropark has been a lifesaver when I’ve absolutely needed to get my head into the outdoors that wasn’t in the middle of town. And it’s got the added benefit of wildlife that lets you get a bit closer, even if they are usually a little demanding for a handout.

Before this I’d only seen these guys wading in much shallower water. But he was almost having to swim where he headed to… he did end up getting his fish though. (I missed that shot.)
