I’m not sure what the artist was looking to capture with this, but the girl looks terrified to me. And mom looks ticked off. Maybe she was out playing too late? I’ll have to look for a description next time I’m there, maybe there’s a label somewhere.
Most statues I’ve photographed have been in cemeteries, but I enjoy trying to figure out different perspectives to capture them. On this one I wasn’t fully happy with the lighting… I’m still learning the quirks of the lens I used… so there’s some solar flare I couldn’t quite get rid of. I found I liked it best when I almost fully desaturated it – though it’s not fully black and white.
