Waiting for Lunch

One of my favorites kinds of bird at one of my favorite parks. After moving out of the U.P., Kensington Metropark has been a lifesaver when I’ve absolutely needed to get my head into the outdoors that wasn’t in the middle of town. And it’s got the added benefit of wildlife that lets you get a bit closer, even if they are usually a little demanding for a handout. This particular time, I found this bird taking a break from his hunting to stand in this position for about 30 minutes. I moved along the shoreline, trying different angles, while also trying not to spook him off.
