Wet Winter

I’d recently picked up a 24mm fixed lens I wanted to try out (not an expensive lens, but I got it to force myself to move more instead of relying on the zoom lens) and spent some time before and after Thanksgiving freezing my butt of in Marquette. I’d wished the days weren’t as cloudy, as there wasn’t enough light to really catch the icicles how I’d hoped to… there were a few spots along the shoreline where the waves had been splashing up and freezing on the trees.

I took a handful of shots of several locations with both my new 24mm and then also with my wide angle kit lens (zoom) to compare… I don’t think there was really a quality difference, but either my zoom did better or I’m just more used to using it… more of the shots I took with that turned out better than with my new one.
